HOW TO BE PRODUCTIVE DURING THE LOCKDOWN.

Being productive during the lockdown period is hard. You wake up in the morning feeling already unmotivated and by the time you blink an eye it is already evening, and you haven’t done anything. I don’t know how many day’s I have already wasted without doing anything but after days and days of struggling, I have found the secret of how to be productive during the lockdown period.

Being productive helps you evolve, and it teaches you to continuously push yourself. You will become the better you and after a while you will learn to do more with your time. You will never feel like you don’t have enough time and you won’t procrastinate.

HOW TO BE PRODUCTIVE DURING THE LOCKDOWN.

1.Write It Down.

Planning always helps me stay productive. I always write down the tasks I must do for the day so that it stands as a reminder for me. Funny enough it is so easy to forget what you had to do in a blink of an eye. What I do is write down everything I want to do for the day and work at tackling those tasks.

Whenever you do this though make sure not to overwhelm your brain by writing too many things. I prefer to list my tasks so that it doesn’t look too overwhelming.

Make sure that your order your tasks by importance and try keep your list as short as possible. This will give you the impression that it’s not going to be too bad and motivate you to complete your tasks.

2. Do Your Most Dreaded Task First.

The trick to getting things done is to start with the hardest task. I don’t know how many times I decided I was no longer going to be productive because there was something on the list that I didn’t want to do. I have now realized though that it is so much easier to start with the dreaded task first because once you get it done comes the easier tasks. You’ll also feel much lighter after this task is done.

Hard or dreadful tasks can sometimes also be time consuming, you end up taking the whole day trying to do one thing when you could have completed 4 other tasks. At the end of the day you haven’t done anything and you’re still at point 0.

So, the next time you have a few things to do use this tip and you’ll say thank you later.

3. Turn off Distractions.

Most times when I ask myself why I couldn’t do a set task the answer is because I was distracted. Sometimes I don’t even notice how distracted I have been until there’s no more time to do the set task.

What is a distraction?

A distraction is something that prevents you from concentrating on something else. This can be anything from your cellphone, noise, the people around you and sometimes even your own thoughts. Distractions are terrible because sometimes you don’t even notice how distracted you are until you see the sunset.

Something that I have learnt to do over this lockdown period is to put away everything that distracts me. I try to move away from things that have the potential to distract me. For example, my cellphone always distracts me so what I do when I want to be productive is either put my cellphone on silent or away from the area I am working at.

4.Take Breaks.

I can’t emphasize how important it is to take breaks. You should never think that you will be productive by over working yourself because you won’t. If you want to be productive you need to be smart about planning your time and make sure that you give yourself a rest whenever you need to.

I take many short breaks while trying to tackle a task and this is not because I don’t want to finish but because I don’t want to end up tackling the task poorly. Taking breaks will boost your brain functionality and decrease mental fatigue meaning that you will do your best. So next time when you’re trying to be productive don’t forget to give yourself some rest.

Things to do when you are taking a break.

  • Drink some water.
  • Walk around the house.
  • Make some food.
  • Dance.

5. Progress, not perfection.

Change your mindset and stop trying to complete a lot of things at once. If you wanted to do 3 things for the day and you were able to complete 2 celebrate that! The fact that you were able to wake up and do something is something to be happy about. Tomorrow aim at doing

Progress, not perfection has been my motto for some time now. I feel that we always focus on being perfect and doing things right the first time, but we should be giving our self a pat in the back for that one extra thing we were able to do. Focus on your progress and eventually you will be where you want to be.

This will also keep you motivated, and you’ll feel excited to do the next thing.

That is How to be productive during the lockdown period.

Being in such difficult times with the pandemic can easily put you off the rail and make you uninterested in anything so it is up to you to lift yourself up and get things done. I encourage you to stay positive and stay productive so that you can have something to look at after the lockdown.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope that this post was beneficial to you. Please leave a comment on how you stay productive during this pandemic.

2018 NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS.

Hey gorgeous how are you doing?! Before anything else I would love to wish you a happy new year and wish you all the best in everything you do. 2017 like any other year had its up and downs but for me 2017 had more downs than there was ups that I feel like I’m happy to be in 2018! Today I would like us to talk about new year resolutions and what we are going to achieve in the new year.

Self love
I preach so much about self love and self appreciation but I still think it’s not enough. I need to be in a year where I can literally do anything with my body  and not be judged for it and without me thinking twice about my decision. I need to be at a point where I can love myself unconditionally and be content with the person that I am.

Recognition
People are sleeping on your girl too much and it’s time we woke up! This year I would love to do more collaborations with different creative people, make new friendships as well as get more recognition from companies so that I can start pushing a word. This 2018 I would like to enter into a new chapter in terms of my influence and broaden my voice.

Experience things.
I’m mostly known for shying away from doing things because I’m always pulling out and feeling scared but this year I really wanna push my limits and try out new things. I would like to go to different places, try different types of food and make memories.

Make relationships.
Now if you know me I hardly ever entertain any sort of relationship whatsoever ending in me being all alone and not doing anything. Which there’s nothing wrong with but for 2018 I’d really love to meet new people and create all sorts of different bonds and just be a free person. I know people like taking advantage and that I’m not going to always make the right bond but this year I’m really just going to let God protect me in all the things that I do.

Exercise.

I used to be a workout junkie and would never go through a week without excising more than 4 times a week but that sort of fell out last year when I was working in retail and didn’t have enough time so this year I would really love to get back into routine and start excising again.

Do significant things
Last but not least for 2018 I wanna do things that have significance. What I mean is I wanna do significant things that I can see and that make a difference in y life. I wanna start helping out my family more and just enhancing our quality of life.

Yes guys so those are my goals for 2018 and hopefully by God’s grace I am going to achieve them. I am going to be working much harder this year and focusing on the things that mean the most to me like my creative life..What are your goals for 2018? Please leave them down in the comments section below and lets start up a conversation.

MAGALIESBURG WINE #ADVENTUREAWAITS

Hey guys what is good, welcome right back to JourneySpeaks!!! On the 7th of November, Magaliesburg Wine was kind enough to invite me and a couple of other influential people on an adventure with them to the Magaliesburg mountains. Magaliesburg Wine took us on a  Magaliesburg Canopy Tour where we went zip lining and flying about in the air. Here’s my take on it.

20171117_101946

When I got the email from Megan inviting me to #adventureawaits I was way over happiness. Especially when I saw the date because I knew that I could take the day off and actually attend. We were all told that there’d be transport for everyone from a central point and that we should all be there at a specific time -but you know your girl had to be late :/ *still apologizing*. However, the Magaliesburg Wine team was so understanding and actually so sweet to wait for me and take me with.

Then the adventure began! From being on the bus Ben who is a winemaker got me clued up about the wine and how they operated and actually told me a bit more about Magaliesburg wine. I would say the ride from Sandton, Johannesburg to the Sparkling Waters Hotel & Spa was about 2 hours long, -which was a bit too long for me but it gave us enough time to get acquainted with each other.

When we got to the Sparkling Waters Hotel & Spa my first reaction was “what the heck are we doing here” I was absolutely confused, nervous and at the same time very excited! But all the people at the canopy tours were so welcoming and so kind that we just laughed off everything and focused on having a great time. Mike who was our “tour guide”  informed us about what we were going to do, safety procedures and all that was going to happen while making jokes so that we didn’t get too technical and lose focus.\

To get to the actual zip lining venue we then went on a top class limo ride which was about 15 minutes and even though the ride was rocky we still enjoyed it. While not forgetting that Mike and Godfrey got our brains heated by questions that seemed easy but we knew nothing about!

Upon getting to the actual zip lining venue I was really nervous because it literally looked like we were going to be flying on some ropes over some mountains. However, this all changed when I went on my first slide and began to get comfortable with the feel of the ropes and actually realized that it wasn’t that bad. Let’s just say the more you do it, the more comfortable you get!

It did get quite tricky when we got to I think the 5th slide and they told us we had to break on our own because we could be coming too fast. My reaction was “excuse me?” I have terrible trust issues with myself so for them to be telling me to depend on myself was really concerning lol. However, we all got the hang of it and continued on the great adventure.

After doing all the slides we then went on a small little hike where I felt they were setting us to death! However, it was really short so I was thankful to God for keeping me alive 😀 What was also nice about the adventure was the educational part of it as well. While we were busy having fun Mike would also add in a couple of educational comments and facts that we didn’t know about the earth and South Africa.

After flying about in the air and then going on the small hike we then went on to some lunch which consisted of some burgers and fries and then Magaliesburg wine fixed us up with some cocktails to just help us relax and wind down. We all then just had a great time talking about the adventure and getting to know each other more. I can definitely tell you that no one was ready for the ride back home.

I honestly had a great time that I will most definitely do zip lining again and a huge thank you goes to the whole of the Magaliesburg wine team for organizing such a great adventure because I wouldn’t have thought that flying in the air was great fun. I also met some really great people while on this adventure that I can now call friends. If you’re interested in zip lining or would just like to try something new I’d definitely recommend going on the canopy tour, it’s just amazing. I will also leave some links for you guys if any of you decide you want to try it out.

I will also have a blog post up about the Magaliesburg wine that I got to take home and maybe try out a few recipes so if you’re looking forward to that then make sure you are following the blog.

3 TIPS ON HOW TO BE THE BEST YOU||GAIN THE CONFIDENCE YOU NEED.

Hey guys what is up?! Many times we lose ourselves in midsts of what she says, what he thinks and who’s looking. Everything we do seems to be triggered or motivated by all these thoughts that when we think about it, it makes no sense. Because of all these sufferings we go through I wanted to give you some tips on how to love and embrace yourself and how to pull off that confidence at your lowest. I feel like the only difference between someone who’s strong and one who appears not to be strong is their confidence. Let’s get right into it!

1. Acceptance and Understanding.

The first step to any sort of confidence is accepting yourself mentally and physically. Once you learn to accept who you are (in and outside) you learn to start loving yourself way in and out which builds that confidence because you know yourself, love yourself and you don’t doubt yourself.

2. Respect yourself.

Just like accepting yourself, learn to respect yourself to an extent that no one can put you down. Respect yourself in a way that you look after yourself (mentally and physically) so that you are proud of what you are and not ashamed to portray who you are. Respect your thoughts, ideas and emotions to a point where you know what your values are and what you can’t take. When I say respect yourself I mean take care of the person that you are and don’t let the wind blow you to a place you don’t want to be.

3. Fix and Enhance yourself.

When I say fix yourself I don’t mean paying thousands of money and getting surgery I actually mean taking your time to actually look good. This could either be by doing your makeup, taking care of your skin and smelling fresh. People generally start feeling good in the inside when they feel good about their outside so make yourself feel better by enhancing yourself to your liking. Avoid following trends that won’t take you anywhere and that you don’t believe in, -stay true to yourself!

Those are my three tips to being the best you and gaining all the confidence you need. Know that confidence starts with you on the inside before it shines on the outside so work on all the insecurities and emotional factors before moving to the physical factors because trust me you can have a beat face and all the hottest fashion but without the confidence we’ll still be able to spot it and you won’t be happy too.

I hope these tips will help you on your journey to confidence and if you’d like me to do different segments on confidence then let me know.
