Anybody can admit that cleaning makeup brushes is not the best task, in fact we try by all means to avoid it. However, dermatologists recommend that we clean our make up brushes often to prevent bacteria that can lead to breakouts. That’s why today I’m going to be sharing with you how to clean your make up brushes the easy way with products you already have at home.
Hey love what’s good?! As per usual Clicks had their Beauty Fair and all my money went with it. Clicks had a 3 for 2 sale on selected beauty products where you could buy 3 products and get the cheapest of the 3 free. Here’s what I bought..
Hey guys welcome right back!! Today I will be reviewing the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Foundation. I bought this foundation last year(2016) when I thought I would be doing my own makeup for prom and to say I am more than impressed is an understatement. This foundation has allowed more and more room for improvement for my foundation skills and has always got me looking like a doll at all times.
The foundation is truly full coverage that just a little bit goes a long way which also means saving a whole lot of product and it is light weight that your faces completely feels like there is nothing on your face. Unlike other foundations you wont feel like there is an extra layer on your face. I also love the fact that it has no texture. Your face still feels the same but a little more smoother.
The foundation does in some occasions oxidize as well as transfer but its not something that is a huge problem because a little powder can easily solve that. I love that in its natural state the foundation is matte and gives off that natural look, non-oily look. The foundation does have SPF 10 which can be both an advantage and a disadvantage. The advantage would be that the foundation will protect your skin from the sun and the disadvantage is that your pictures will have some flash back when there is flash involved however because it is only SPF 10 the flashback is not that much.
However the foundation is really great. It lasts the whole day and no problem with it moving around and starting to crease. I bought my foundation for R550 at Edgars which can be a little pricey but for the amount of time the foundation lasted, I am not complaining.
So overall I would recommend the foundation especially to people who want that full coverage flawless looking finish. The foundation will not disappoint and will honestly give the best looks.

For the past few days I’ve been wearing my concealer as foundation and to say I was SHOOK was an understatement. My LA Girl PRO HD Concealer moved me from levels to levels.
I’ve been having a shortage of foundation for the past few days and like a hustler I thought if my concealer can conceal then why not conceal this face?
I use an ordinary cheap concealer that I bought from Dischem for R30.00 – LA girl PRO HD Concealer and let me just say there’s nothing ordinary about how magical it works. For a cheap product like this the coverage is beyond amazing and lasts the whole day.
I’ve been getting so many comments about my makeup when wearing this concealer as foundation that I’m even considering buying a whole lot of them and using them as foundation.
The concealer is so lightweight that you even forget you have makeup on and I’ve realised that a little can go a long way which is good because then the product will last longer. I also love the fact that the product has the little brush thing on top because you can evenly distribute the product around your main areas.
The problem I had with the concealer is that you need to set it with powder because you makeup will shine and come off as oily but that’s nothing you can’t handle. Also the concealer will leave stains on clothing or anything you touch with your face so to control that keep some powder with you and be a little more careful.
Another thing I noticed was that you will look dead or atleast i did without any contour or eyeliner so don’t skip those steps. I didn’t use to contour so I’m currently using an eye shadow colour as contour and mixing that with some blush.
However overall the concealer does wonders. It will last you the whole day and you won’t need to touch it up. I would actually rate it a 9/10 because my makeup game has moved from level to level with this concealer. I am hoping that the LA girl foundation that they have out is as good as this because I would love to try it out and it would be a favourite if it was as good.
Thank you for reading and I hope this post was helpful to you.

Hey guys what’s popping? Today I’m coming at you with a DIY. Over sometime I have been creating my own lipstick shades because when times are tough you gotta make it work with what you have. Today I’ll show you how to make your own nude lipgloss/lipstick.
What you will need.
- Colourless lip gloss or vaseline.
- Concealer or foundation
Finding a nude Lipstick that works for your skin tone can be a big job and at times very expensive too. So I decided to come up with my own way to make your own from at home and at almost nothing.
- Step 1 : Using your brush or beauty blender apply the foundation/concealer that you use on your face to your lips. Don’t apply too much just enough that you can see that your lips have changed colour.
- Step 2 : Add Vaseline or your lipgloss to your lips and just keep rubbing your lips together to get it to the right comfortable consistency. I’d say add enough.
And that’s basically the easiest way to come up with the perfect nude colour for your skin tone. You will need to keep adding more vaseline or lipgloss as time goes but this shouldn’t be a problem.
To add a bit of colour. Add a pink lipstick( I used my Revlon Matte Balm in the shade 205) to the colour just to come up with a pink nude but this shouldn’t be necessary. Thank me later!
Anyway thank you for reading. I hope this post was helpful and that you enjoyed reading it. Help someone else by sharing and let’s all beat this beauty life.
Hey guys what’s good?! Beginning of this month I told myself out with the basic repeated eye shadow looks and in with the creative, new, look at me again looks. I went to Dischem on a search for an eye shadow palette that not only had a variety of colours but one that had if not great then good pigmentation. On my search I found the 24 MATTE PALETTE BY BEAUTY TREATS and I am quite in love.
I bought this palette for R85.00 and so far It was worth it. The palette consists of 24 matte shades that are suitable for any event. The colours in the palette range from a dark purple, lime green to a nude peach making sure that you have a colour for both the work place and for a nigh club.
A thing I don’t llike about the palette is the packaging. It is made with plastic and overall looks cheap but I mean you get what you get. The palette ha no mirror and no actual brush but those little sponge things to apply the shadow with.
The palettes pigmentation ranges from a 50 to a hundred. I feel like all the darker colours have more pigmentation than the lighter and brighter colours. I am more of a smokey eye and dark colours type of person so the pigmentation on those colours for me is great. However if you do like playing with colours and having bright eye shadow looks then you are going to have a problem unless you do keep on packing up more and more product and blending less.
When looking at the palette you will see that some of the colours have a bit of shimmer in them however it isn’t that much or noticeable when you apply it.
What I love most about the palette is the fact that the colours don’t fall off. I hate it when your eye shadow dusts off onto your under eyes after you apply your foundation and then you just have this glitter or colour under your eyes that when you try to get rid of with your brush seems to blend in and then you just have this weird colour under your eyes, However from using this palette for the whole of this month I have noticed that the palette doesn’t fall/dust off onto your under eyes or cheeks.
The palette is long lasting and matte for sure. I have realized that I never need to touch up my eye shadow or add in any extra colours because the way I leave my house is the way I’m coming back with this palette. It doesn’t blur out or lose pigmentation as the day goes but however stay the way it was.
Overall this eye shadow palette is great for its money. It is great for people who are still starting out with makeup and want to experiment with a few colours and for people that love warm tone browns and smokey looks then I absolutely recommend this to you. I’d rate this palette a 8 out of 10 only because of the less pigmentation you have on the lighter shades. However this is a palette I would try again.
Hey guys what is up?! So today I’ve got no collaboration with anyone so I’m going solo. That was not going to stop me from posting though so I decided that I would talk to you guys about the perfect red lipstick for Christmas.
The perfect red lipstick for Christmas for me has got to be a classic red. No, not an orange glossy one but a matte bold red. it’s got to be that kind of red that makes people turn their heads and the one that keeps everyone looking at your lips. Most people don’t like red lipsticks because they feel like it brings them more attention or that it’s too out there but I feel like it’s the perfect way to make a statement and always be remembered. And I mean Christmas is the perfect excuse to wear red.
In my opinion Christmas is not complete without the colour red. I mean red is the first colour you think of when someone says “Give me an example of a Christmas colour.” so why not wear it? Anyway since I’m done for this post my chosen red lipstick is the Stay fast Liquid Matte Vinyl in the colour engine red?
If you read my Beauty Haul post featuring Isabellablogss then you know I’ve been loving the Stayfast Liquid Matte Vinyl in Engine Red. This colour is absolutely amazing and I like the classy look that you get from it. Also this lipstick is semi matte and I love that because it looks all put together as if it won’t move. Also everyone wants to look as classy as possible on Christmas and that’s nothing that this lipstick can’t give to you. The colour will go absolutely amazing with any skin tone and can A grade any outfit.Yuup guys so that is the lipstick I feel would be the perfect red for Christmas. I honestly feel like you can’t do any wrong with this one and that it would definitely up your Christmas spirit.

Hey guys what is up? So welcome to day 2, today i’m collaborating with the amazing Isabellablogss who you should totally go and check out right after this! We are collaborating on a beauty haul, basically any beauty products we have recently bought. Lets get it!
GUYS!! This is like the perfect bold red lipstick. I actually wore this when I went to prom and was highly satisfied with the colour. This is like the colour you wear when you go for coffee with the queen. I bought this at Redsquare for R119.95 which was worth it for what I got. However I did notice that this lipstick even though matte, does transfer easily. Like it goes on whatever glass or culinary you use so it gets messy quite fast. So whenever I use it I always kiss a tissue paper and go in with the extra powder to keep it in place.
One word “OBSESSED”. I’ve never been fond of blush, I’ve seen people (especially dark skin people) wearing the wrong shades of blush and so I’ve never given much attention to blush but when this other lady helped me find this particular blush I was dying because it just fit. I didn’t feel weird with it and it didn’t pop that much that people would look at you twice in a bad way. So I definitely recommend this. I bought mine for R99.95 ar Redsquare but only realized now that I could have bought it for half the price at Clicks but its okay.
LOREAL BROW ARTIST SHAPER
Mhmm. So I dont remember how much this was but it was between R80-R100 I think and honestly I wouldn’t buy this again. Firstly the pencil kept on breaking and whenever I sharpened it, it went back to square one and it was a struggle trying to put it on and then also the colour was definitely not enough(well for me). I got like a dark brown but I like full eyebrows and this eyebrow pencil was not giving it to me so honestly I’m running away from it. However the wax/glue does its job and keeps your brows in place.
I bought this power for R139.95 when I was going to prom just to touch up my makeup and make sure everything was in place. However I ended up not using it because my foundation didn’t even move and honestly I never felt the need to touch up anything. I can not say whether i recommend this product or not because I haven’t used it that much to actually tell you what is has done for me so honestly I have no idea. I will keep you updated though.
BELLE COLLECTION 4 COLOUR EYESHADOW
Okay so this is like a shimmery 4 colour palette. I bought this only because it was on sale and I was just like “get in the bag”. At first I was not that fond of it simply because the colours are shimmery and not in a nice way and honestly i prefer standard coloured shadows. However i did put a drop of water on the palettes each which made the colours creamy and kind of metallic which made me like them a little more and for R20 you should be expecting such quality so i’m not gonna give it a lot of criticism. Oh they also have grey undertones which doesn’t really work in favour for my skin tone and as time goes the colours seem to fade away.
CLICKS/DISCHEM BEAUTY BLENDER.
I’ve never used a high end beauty blender before, infact this is my first ever beauty blender so honestly I’ve no idea what the difference could be. However I do love this beauty blender, it does the job for me and I’ve learnt so many ways to make it more effective so I can’t complain.
I’ve used this foundation more than at least 10 times and I can say I’m here for it. It is super matte which kind of urkes me since I love dewy makeup but this foundation covers everything very well(not that I have anything to cover up but you know what i mean). I will give a full review on this foundation soon but overall it works in my favour.
Okay so I am absolutely obsessed with this gift set! When I bought it, It was only just because it was on sale but trust me when I say I fell right in love the moment I opened it. The original price is R375 but God was holding my hand that day and I only got it for R170 which was a great bargain. Considering how much I love it.
So the set consists of
- LOVE HER MADLY BODY SPRAY
- REVLON MATTE BALM IN THE COLOUR ELUSIVE INSAISSABLE(205)
- REVLON LOVER HER MADLY PERFUME
- REVLON NAIL ENAMEL
Out of the 4 things I loved 2 of the things. The perfume and body spray absolutely smell good and they stay on for long so I absolutely love them. However I don’t wear nail polish(religious reasons) so I didn’t get to try it out so I can’t give my full review on it but the colour looked good. However the matte balm guys, this is just not doing it for me. The colour is so pretty and with my skin tone this colour would have easily looked good on me but however that was not the case. The formula to say the most sucks , I dont know if it is my one that is like this or if they are alll like this but I honestly did not like it.
When I applied it, it had a chalky kind of texture and the more you applied is like the more you ruined it. Honestly it did/ does not look flattering at all. However I am going to find some kind of way to make it look good because it does smell good and I think it has potential.
Okay so I bought this lotion for R150 it is the number 3 and It does work as a cleanser and make up remover which is a plus. This is my first ever makeup remover so I really can’t say that much about it or compare it to other things but it does its job really well. It removes my makeup perfectly and It is the only cleanser that I’ve ever put on my face that doesn’t react badly. This one more of just leaves my face the way it was before but cleaner. I think it has ginger too because it does start burning when you put it on for a long time. Would I buy it again? I’m actually not sure because honestly I don’t see the benefits or disadvantages of it.
Yup guys so that is the end of my beauty haul! Please do go and check out Isabella’s Choice, she will be doing the same post too on her blog so go see what she bought. Also I want to say Thank you to her for agreeing to do this collab, It has been really fun. Also you can follow her on Instagram Isabellablogss
