Hey lovie what’s popping, welcome right back to the blog! I know everyone is currently talking about the month of love and date night ideas but I’d really like to talk about something that I feel is a huge factor amongst us as well as something that touches ones heart at a point in time. Today I want us to talk about getting what you want.
Hey guys what is good? Welcome right back to Journeyspeaks!! Today I am making a comparison between two different pictures taken at completely different times. The point is to just see how my photography skills have processed as time went and if I learnt some new skills with the camera or do I honestly just suck.
With time moving and technology developing so fast I feel like photography is always taking a huge turn. From using back cameras from our blackberries to now using phones with dual lens cameras and cameras that are so advanced, picture taking skills from amateurs have upgraded from a 0 to a 1000. For example the new camera technology from Light that just keeps pushing levels.
Okay so this picture was taken over 2 years ago!! Can you believe it, 2 YEARS AGO!! For this picture I had used my Samsung Galaxy tab 4 which at the time was the bomb. This was a time when we used to use picture taking apps like retrica and candy cam and as you can see I had just learnt of VSCO Cam. Okay so firstly lets talk about the pose. Why do I look like a kid who didn’t get candy on Halloween? Lol honestly, I look dead!
Secondly you can see that the quality isn’t that great. My tablet didn’t have a good camera so I don’t blame the picture but looking at it in 2017 I am like honestly?! even though it was good for that time. Again, the angle that I took the picture at is just horrifying. Instead of having the camera facing down on me the camera is facing up which is not working to my faces advantage.
The last thing I want to talk about is just the editing. Honestly, I don’t know what I was thinking, who inspired these filters and where I was going with this but this was just a disaster. Sad thing is that 2 years ago this picture was the bomb and actually got a decent amount of likes on Instagram.
Overall this picture was a mess. The colours are all mixed up in tones of yellow and I wish I knew a little something about whitening images and actually sharpening parts of the picture.
The second comparison is of a picture that I took just recently. Now on this picture you can see a whole lot of progress. Here we have moved away from yellow tones and unclear images instead we have a very clear image that is sharp and gives off the best detail. This picture was taken with an iPhone 5s which is a dramatic change from my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4. For instance, the 5s has a 8 Megapixel back camera whereas the tab had only a 1.3 megapixel front camera – DRAMATIC CHANGE.
You can see that on this picture we have more of a clear view and even though the picture was edited the colours are brighter to see and much cleaner. You can see the good work of the contrast and how sharp the picture is and even though I did desaturate the picture, it looks crisp. Overall this is a good picture. It’s not the best picture but it is something I wouldn’t mind showing someone.
Thank you for reading. This was actually so fun to look back and review both pictures. Don’t forget to like and please leave a link to one of your earliest blog posts. I want to see the change.!
Hey guys what’s good? Welcome to the first and ultimate Question and Answer!! I have always wanted to host a Q&A but have always been scared to go through with it because I didn’t have much influence. But you know what, We have been doing this for two years and I feel like we are ready to take this on!
Answer : High school was honestly a very fun experience but at the same time something I could say I learnt a lot from. I think most of the things I deal with generally in life and how I deal with them is based from the experiences from high school. One thing I could say I learnt from high school is to be calm and to analyse something from all angles before acting on it. You will never gain anything from making a noise about something you don’t understand.
Answer : Yes I have and to say it was tragic is an understatement. Life broke us apart and God decided to take him to heaven before we could even fully learn of each other.
Answer : Natural how? If you mean makeup wise then the highs would be, your confidence rises on a high and you feel put together. Literally no one can put you down when you know your makeup looks good however the low is that when you don’t have makeup on you feel insecure kinda. You get used to seeing yourself with no blemishes or dark spots that when you see them you feel naked almost.
Answer : I honestly don’t know! I haven’t been consistent with a particular makeup brand that I really can’t choose.I’m more of the girl who’s tried one of each brand through one product you feel?
Answer : Ambition. I like a person who wants more, who won’t accept less but at the same time a person who acts towards his ambitions. If you have ambition and you show qualities of a hard worker then honestly you’ve copped me because I like linking with a person whereby we can push each other to do more.
Answer : Both
Question : What is sex?
Here’s what Google says..
Answer : In five years time I see myself in another country doing content creating permanently and professionally on all platforms. I actually see myself focusing more on the television and music industry and doing more and much bigger creative work.
Answer : Firstly, I love the way and how I deal with tough situations. I’ve noticed how I never fail to bring myself up from tragic situations and I actually respect myself for that. Another thing I love about myself is how big heated I am and how I always look to help others even though I don’t benefit and lastly what I love about myself is how I always find something to make the day. Whether it’s by joking around or doing skits my days are always fun filled and full of laughter that I sometimes can’t deal.
Answer : Lipstick! Girl I don’t know but I always have to have some type of lip product on my lips. I feel like a lipstick will always put a natural or a beat face on a higher level. So I always have a couple of colours in my bag.
Answer : Firstly I actually wanted to do YouTube(I still do) as a way to reach out to people about the things I loved but YouTube needed more resources that I didn’t have and I felt as though blogging was easier to do plus I had everything for blogging so I started blogging instead.
Answer : Lol this actually makes me laugh. Honesty girl I don’t think there’s a way to get him back without you actually telling him you like him especially since you’re the one who left him. So talk to him and tell him how you feel. But sþince you say he blocked you maybe it’s sign to just move on from him.
Answer : Yes

Hey guys what is good?! Welcome back to JourneySpeaks. Today I am coming at you with another blog post! But what’s different about today’s blog post is that not only is it something I’ve never done before but it’s something happening locally(in South Africa). So to all my local readers we can start dancing.
I’ve recently been introduced to a company called Travelstart which is a Cape Town based one-stop online travel shop and can I first just say MAGIC. Basically what Travelstart does is offer low airfares on international and domestic flights from different airlines, vehicle hire options from top car rental companies and hotel reservations bookable for properties on every continent Meaning they offer something for every traveler’s budget.
Now the best part about Travelstart is that Travelstart has a student flight page dedicated to all students (me and you) where they offer not only discounted flight specials but useful student tips on how to go about seeing the world as a student. Today I will be doing a review on their students flight page.
When I was first introduced to TravelStart I thought it was just another company trying to make money but to my amazement they were doing the opposite, trying to make us money!
What I love most about the student flights page is that it’s so easy to navigate and work around with, for a person who’s always using her phone for everything I love that I don’t get any complications when using the page and I don’t have to switch to a computer to be able to work with it. They’ve made it so easy to understand that you automatically know what you are doing even though you’re clueless.
What’s also nice is that on the page they let you compare flights and let you see what works well for you and what you can do to save money. The little app that they have on the page is also extremely useful especially for people who like to plan ahead and start saving before time because the little tool allows you to plan your flight, check what you need to save for the flight, what company you can go with and it breaks down the flight details for you so that you are aware of the time it would take you to get to your venue and how many kilograms of luggage you can carry.
I also love the fact that they understand that you are a student and that you are still learning about life so they’ve got all travelling tips and advice for you to make sure you make the right move. –Now who doesn’t need this? It’s like having your own travel assistant who’s got your back and makes sure that you get everything for the right price.
Travelstart’s student flight page is so informative that you can do your research right there. You always have a helping hand I believe you can always learn something and a BONUS is that they have a number that you can call when you need help with your booking(talk about kickass wherever you go service!). Please go read up on their page to learn a bit more about travelling and saving money . They’ve got so many tips such as How to book cheap student flights, Money saving tips while travelling and Top Tips For Moving Into Residence That Every Student Should Know!
If you are a student I’d like for you guys to check out Travelstart’s Student Flights page and make use of it because there is no way that you are loosing, it’s that type of a deal where you’re always on the winning end and please do share the page with your student friends so we can all WIN!
Thank you so much for reading, please give this post a like and leave a comment saying where you’d like to go to one day.
Hey guys what’s popping? Back at it again with another blog post!! Okay as I finished posting the other blog I saw a comment from Smile Your Day Ahead and she had nominated me for the A-Z Tag and I was like “why not?” I honestly live for tags, they are absolutely fun to do. Anyway basically the A-Z Tag is just you describing yourself using the letters of the Alphabet. Here I go.
Yup guys that’s basically it. Can I point out how hard that actually was? Let’s just say I suck at vocabulary. I want to say thanks to Khartika for nominating me this was so much fun! Check out Khartika’s post here.
A few days ago I was introduced to an online matress company, Leesa and they had asked me to give you tips and tricks to getting a good night’s rest. For a very long time I had problems going to sleep that it went to even insomnia and whenever I did get a wink of sleep I never felt fully rested so I thought that this would be such a great topic to talk about.
Here are my tips to getting a good night’s rest.
1. Create an environment that is quiet and most comfortable to you.
I believe being comfortable is the easiest way to make sure you get a good night rest. So position your pillows to your own liking and spread your legs over the whole bed as along as your comfortable. When you are comfortable then you bed will be like laying on a cloud.
2. Go to bed early.
How are you supposed to feel rested and awake if you go to bed late? Take two hours off of your TV or cellphone time and put that into sleeping. Give yourself more than eight hours of sleep and you’ll definitely feel more rested.
3. Go with your routine.
If you’re used to sleeping at 9:00 pm then sleep at 9:00 pm. Don’t procrastinate and do unnecessary things instead of sleeping. Doing this will put you off of your routine and make your body feel tired and that is why we always complain when we wake up, saying we are tired.
4. Have a snack.
If you know you are about to sleep grab those nuts or crackers and take them to bed. I’m not saying have a whole meal but have a little snack to keep you going before your sleep. The best thing to do is to make it healthy. For example drinking warm milk or snacking on veggies.
5. Read a book.
Before going to sleep have that one book that you read. I start feeling sleepy when reading books while I’m in bed so that’s a great way to get my mind to start preparing to sleep and to kick start my sleepiness.
Leesa has also given me a graphic to share with you guys on becoming a morning person. Feel free to download it and use it.
Thank you guys for reading! Hopefully you will get a good night’s rest with the tips I have given. Thank you to Leesa for giving me this post idea because honestly I think a lot of us suffer from a lot of rest problems and hopefully from this we can all sleep better.
A couple of days ago I met a lady named Patricia. Patricia is a beautician by profession and has decided to start her own beauty company named AromaSoapz. She makes products such as glycerin soaps, body scrubs, perfumes, massage oils and etc.
All her products are organic meaning that they are natural and are very beneficial for all types of skin. She makes them from natural oils, herbs and smells and makes sure that all her products have different purposes that they work towards. What I love about what she is doing is the fact that she makes all these products from the beginning, from scratch and works them up to what we buy. Patricia gave me two of her products to try , a rosemary glycerine soap and a body scrub which I will review today.
Firstly let’s just say her products smell heavenly!! Especially her soaps. They’ve got distinctive smells that just keep you wanting more. They make sure that you always smell fresh!!
When Patricia said that I didn’t even need a week to try her products because they work from the word go, I thought she was just trying to sell a product but I kid you not from the first day that I tried her body scrub and glycerin soap I could already see a difference. From using her bodyscrub my skin has been feeling very soft and moisturized and secondly i could feel the cleanliness and how exfoliated my skin was. My skin does also look much healthier!!
Bodyscrubs are meant to remove dead skin cells, open up sweat pores, help remove cellulite and improves circulation because of the granules the bodyscrubs contain.
I normally have weird reactions when using different soaps on my face but when I used her Aroma glycerin soap I noticed that my skin felt fresh and like a baby’s bum. My skin didn’t feel dry at all and I found that after using the body scrub my skin moisturized much better- Instead of bouncing off my skin it stayed on for the full day making sure my skin stayed smooth and moisturized.
If i could rate AromaSoapz I would rate them a 10/10 simply because the products
- Are organic
- Smell great!
- Are beneficial for almost all types of skin
- Sell at reasonable prices
Patricia told me that her organic products could also heal acne and aczema and many other skin problems and I thought that was so beneficial because so many of us go through problematic skin throughout our lives and the fact that her products that are actually cheap(start from R40) could heal those things is amazing. And not only do they heal you physically but psychologically too! Just like how we know different herbs heal different things they do that psychologically too.
She also has a huge range of products. Literally she can make anything there is with some herbs and oils.
If you would like to try AromaSoapz please do contact Patricia and place an order! If this post is what is making you want to buy her products then let her know that I sent you!! It would truly mean a lot if you guys showed her support on her new business.

From the end of last year I had been looking for a Job. Reason being that I wanted to study this year and my mom didn’t have the money to take me to University or to any other further education Institute. Beginning of this year I found a job at shop called Clarks and decided that I would study Marketing Long Distance.
I have been doing that ever since and I must admit, it has been hard. I work from Monday to Sunday and get 5 days off every month. I am very grateful for the job that I have because it gives me a source of income and I still get to study however I have literally no time. Hence why I’ve been blogging less and posting less on social media.
While doing this I have met many beautiful people who make this less harder than it is. I have laughed continuously and learnt many different things. I have learnt that each day is an opportunity to learn and I feel like I have learnt to grow up emotionally and to deal with things in better ways. I have learnt to be independent and to stand on my own and not feel like there is something wrong with that.
Even though I will be posting less and doing less of the things I love, I want you guys to know that I love you so much and that I am gonna be trying my best to deliver content continuously. I don’t want you guys to feel like I am losing interest in this whole thing because you guys mean so much to me but I want you guys to understand the situation that I am in.
Once again thank you so much for the support that you guys have given me from the start till now. I honestly appreciate it.
Leave a comment telling me the hardest situation you have had to go through in your life, if you want to be private then you can email me.

Hey guys what is up?! First of all HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I wish you all the best for 2017 and let this year be the year for success. My life has literally changed around in like a day. I’ve passed my matric year with a high pass, I’ve found a job and I’m currently trying to act like an adult.
I’ve recently been introduced to a company called Earnest which is a group of people of many expertise who’s goal is make credit more accessible by reducing the costs and barriers faced by millions of financially responsible people. They asked me to share with you a money saving guide along with to highlight the importance of understanding your financials! We did just start a new year so I thought this would be amazing for setting goals and trying out new things.
I feel like 2017 is going to be LIT (yes, I used that word) and in order for us to get everything out of it we need to keep our financials in check.
Money makes the world go round so it is very important that you know where your money goes and what you do with it. Understanding your money means saving more and using your money wisely. Because if you know your financials then you know what to avoid, what not to do and how to use your money to the best of you.
Also, if you know your financials then it’s easier for you to set goals and see where your money goes. And instead of trying to buy the whole world, you know what you can afford, why its best not to spend on something and what the bigger goal is.
When Earnest approached me they asked me to set 4 goals for 4 quarters of the year and here’s what I came up with…
1. To have money saved up for the end of year(Christmas)
2. To have money to pay for my part time studies.
3. To have an aside budget each month that I can splurge on other things like makeup and fashion.
4. To have an aside budget for emergencies.
Earnest then went out to make me some cards to help guide all the goals. And here they are.
Basically all these cards have my goals and things that I could cut down on to save better for the goals and to make sure I achieve those goals. They are also very nice because they do send them individually and you could print them and for each quarter put them up somewhere where you could see them everyday.
Reason for me showing you guys this is because I want this year to be a year where we can all look back and say “Yah this was the year!” and not only to say this but to also have the proof in our bank accounts to show for it.
Anyway thank you so much for reading and please do go and check out Earnest’s website because they’ve got a whole lot of information on many aspects of that can affect your finances, like personal and student loans, and tips. If you check them out, I think it will help you so much for any financial goals that you have plus you can even refinance your sudent loans there to save thousands off your debt.
